Quartz Studio Free is a free audio recorder for Microsoft Windows. You can record audio from different sources into different tracks and then export the resulting mix in WAV format. This program supports 4 mono tracks plus two extra tracks that can be combined in one stereo track, making a total of 6 recording tracks.
You can combine several inputs from audio files or recording devices, and generates a unique file with all the data, facilitating the process.
Quartz Studio only uses 44.100 kHz sample rate, in order to ensure optimal quality (CD quality).
To achieve a "good take", sometimes you will need to defragment your hard disk and/or disable background applications.
Quartz Studio Free is easy to use, featuring a clear user interface with hardware-like graphical controls, however such could confuse users that aren't familiarized with them.
Beyond the idea of recording your own audio compositions, the program provides built-in tools and features to easily share your work with other colleagues over Internet, revealing an all-new collaborative work model.
